2023 Performance data

Reception GLD

GLD is a performance measure for EFS pupils. Children are defined as having reached a good level of development at the end of the EYFS if they have achieved at least the expected level in:

  • Early learning goals in the prime areas of leaning (personal, social and emotional development, physical development and communication  and  language)
  • Early learning goals in specific areas of mathematics and literacy
  • 60% of our pupils achieved the GLD 

Year 1 Phonics

In year 1, all pupils take part in the statutory Phonics Screening test. This assesses the phonic understanding of pupils and their ability to decode words. Children who do not reach the appropriate standard are given targeted support in Year 2 and retests at the end of that year.

  • 66% of our pupils passed the phonic check 

Year 2 KS 1 assessments

Year 2 pupils sit the KS 1 SATs (Statutory Assessment Test) in reading and maths. Writing is assessed by our teachers.

The tests are designed to assess progress and attainment of pupils to determine whether they are working at the expected standard for their age (ARE)

  • 34% achieved ARE in reading , writing and maths
  • 59% of our pupils achieved ARE in reading 
  • 37% achieved ARE in writing 
  • 48% achieved ARE in maths 

Year 6 KS2 assessments

Year 6 pupils sit the KS2 SATs(statutory Assessment Test) in reading, spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPAG) and maths. Writing is assessed by our teachers and this year, Judgements were moderated by the Local Authority. 

The tests are designed to assess progress and attainment of pupils to determine whether they are working at the expected standard for their age (ARE)

  • 56% of our pupils achieved ARE in reading, writing and maths (national 59%) 
  • 68% of our pupils achieved ARE in reading (national 73%) and at greater depth 7%
  • 68% of our pupils achieved ARE in writing (national 71%) and at greater depth 3% 
  • 78% of our pupils achieved ARE in maths (national 73%) and at greater depth 22%
  • 60% of our pupils achieved ARE in SPAG (national 72%) and at greater depth 19%
